Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she gained fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate with Rihanna. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna was hired by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018, she appeared in two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. On November 13 she dropped two more singles titled The No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured alongside Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released to promote the song. It has already received nearly 3 million hits on YouTube within its first week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
